Armando Rodriguez

Rodriguez is a multidisciplinary artist who has been residing in Houston for the past 40 years.  His body of work encompasses painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, xylography, serigraphy, linoleum and solar printmaking, among other techniques. He was born in Mexico, at the Ejido Ignacio Zaragosa. He comes from a hard working accomplished Mexican immigrant family.

 

He has long collaborated with international renowed artists in Houston, Qatar, Serbia and Europe.

Rodriguez studied psychology and Art at the University of Houston.

 

The artwork “El hombre atómico” (The atomic man) exhibited at Capatpult references Rufino Tamayo’s early work about the World War. Rodriguez is interested in depicting the transformation on humans during war.
